Mulberry, Serviceberry, Chokecherry and Cherry

Is there a type of wood you really love or a tree that's special to you?
Can you picture wearing a ring made from a branch of that tree?

Here are a few examples of David's 'Branch Wood Rings'.

Bill's Mulberry, Apple and Oak Woods above and
his Mulberry Ring with Apple and Oak inlays

That's Kathy and Val's Serviceberry Wood above and the
Serviceberry Rings David created with cross spiraled Lapis Lazuli inlays
bordered by narrow Maple

It's a little like Christmas morning when a parcel arrives with a branch or a rock or a little envelope of dried flower petals from some other corner of the world.
Someone has thoughtfully gathered and packaged those things and they've entrusted us to make them something beautiful from their raw materials ~ something worthy of their feelings for their beloved.  It's a humbling thing.

Kristen and Dan sent this Chokecherry wood (from their wedding tree)
and these are their Walnut and chokecherry rings.

Drop us an email if you like. We'll let you know how to choose your branch and how best to send your wood, or stones or shell (or coffee grounds or sage or sweetgrass :) just about anything that you'd like David to use a wee bit of in your ring.

It's one way to make your ring extra special and have it tell your own unique story.

Here's the stone and shell Abby sent
and her Cherry Wood

And the ring David created for her beloved.
Greyed Maple with Abby's Cherry Wood and inlay material.

The possibilities are endless.
We look forward to hearing your ideas.
As always ~ thanks so much for stopping by.

Love is in the air - and at their feet too.

Back in March, I posted a photograph on our Facebook page of Eva and Randal's Mesquite, Oak and Coffee Wood rings.

I just love the rings they designed, was so pleased David undertook their commission for braided hemp inlays ~  and Randal and Eva were an absolute joy to work with.

Well, they are 'Mr and Mrs' now and we are so happy for them. They sent us an email the other day and some sweet photographs of their warm and loving backyard ceremony ~ with just closest family members attending.  Their awesome pup Leroy featured nicely in the photos ~ though they told us they barely noticed him there during the ceremony.  :) Those of us who have exchanged marriage vows know just what that's like.  We only have eyes for our beloved during those intense and beautiful moments of committing to love and cherish each other!  Still, there was Leroy ~ very much a part of them and feeling the love.

Here's an excerpt from Eva and Randal`s recent email.

"We absolutely love our Touch Wood Rings and are learning how to take good care of them so they can last a lifetime. My heart swells every time I look down at my left hand, the rings are not only beautiful but invoke feelings of happiness, warmth, and excitement for the future. We are so pleased to have gone through such a unique and personal experience that resulted in something so special and one-of-a-kind. Thank you both again for everything you do and we wish you nothing but happiness!
When I asked if we might share their email and a few of their pics, they wrote back, "We are so pleased and proud of our rings and truly enjoyed the overall journey that we would love to share it with anyone who is interested in the amazing work you two do.
We will absolutely stay in touch and also hope to maybe meet in person one day - we might have to take a trip up to the beautiful Canadian wilderness ;-) All the photos you share are stunning! Thanks again! Much love "

David and I send our dearest love and our very best wishes for your happiness!!  Big hugs and love to all three of you!  XXX  Thanks again Randal and Eva!

Celebrating the Love at the end of the year.

Celebrating the Love.
There were 10 wonderful people directly involved in the creation of these 10 rings toward the end of 2015.
Two couples who've designed their rings together and individuals who painstakingly described and designed a very special ring as a gift, or an offer of forever for their beloveds. And of course David and I were also very happily involved.

A wedding on the Scottish Dunes

 Erica and Peter

 Happily Married

In the spring of 2013 Peter designed and commissioned his engagement ring for Erica
She said yes.  You'll find our post about their engagement here.

We were so pleased when Peter wrote again to invite us to work
with them on their wedding bands.

Tiny Toes and Touch Wood Rings

If you've worked with us you know that David and I don't 'sell rings'.  We offer our services and we care deeply about the people who entrust us with the creation of their rings.  One of the most rewarding things about the work we do is hearing from folks years later.

We have a record of every Touch Wood Ring we've had the honour of creating.  We remember and appreciate every person we've had the pleasure of working with.  After more than 13 years of offering our work online there's not a week goes by that we don't hear from someone with an update on how they are doing, or where they are now in their lives. Often these welcome updates come with a photo or two.

In October of 2010 James commissioned a ring for his beloved.

In May 2011, Adrianne commissioned a Touch Wood Ring for James.

This Saturday (almost 4 years after our first contact) we received an email from James and Adrianne and grinned from ear to ear when we opened their photos!

David and I are so happy for you and honoured that you have shared your wonderful news with us.

"Nicola and David,  It has been a few years since we last talked.  I hope all is well with you.  We recently had a little girl and had some beautiful photos taken with the rings you made us.  I attached a few for you to enjoy. Thanks again for making such beautiful rings! James, Adrianne, and the new babe"

And here is the photo I couldn't wait to share ...
How priceless is this?!

Mohamed and Samantha and their Gibraltar wedding

Samantha and I began our communications in January of this year.
In an early email, Samantha sent us a photo from in front of the mosque where she and Mohamed had their religious ceremony last year. They were planning their civil ceremony for this summer in Gibraltar and contacted us about commissioning rings for the occasion.
Samantha was so wonderful to correspond and work with; she's the kind of person I'd hire in a heartbeat :) and someone I'd love to have as a friend and neighbour.
Once she and Mohamed worked out their designs, David went to work creating their rings.
When we sent them the photographs of their completed rings, Samantha wrote:

Hi Nicola and David,
Just when we thought we couldn't be any more blown away by your work.. These rings look absolutely stunning - just beautiful. Thank you so much for all you do, and all you've done for us.
Of course we can't wait to get our hands on the rings and see them up close! Based on the photos, they really do exceed our expectations. I can't find words!!
Thank you again. We will let you know when they arrive. I also have to compliment your photography skills! I'm consistently impressed by the two of you.   Take care, Samantha (and Mohamed)
A couple of weeks ago, we received this lovely email and these beautiful photographs of the happy couple wearing their Touch Wood Rings.

Hi Nicola,
I've been meaning to send you a note for some time now. Mohamed and I could not be more in love with our rings. They are simply gorgeous, feel good to wear, and we get compliments every day! I attached a few photos with a close up of our rings from our wedding day in Gibraltar in case you'd like to see. I hope you and David are well and staying warm up there. I bet the fall colors are quite lovely by you.
Thank you again for making us such beautiful rings!
Samantha (and Mohamed)

David and I wish you both a long and healthy lifetime of happiness together ~ and in the words of Audrey Hepburn, remember;

“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”

You'll also find Mohamed and Samantha's pics on our Touch Wood Rings Facebook page.

Thanks again to you both and bouquets of love!!
